General conditions of service and sales

ACCOMMODATION

The rental of our villas & suites is only available to the guests and the number of persons indicated on the booking form or during the exchange of emails. Subletting, sharing or inviting outsiders is not permitted.

Check-in is at 2 p.m. and check-out at 11 a.m.

We regularly make improvements to our accommodation and their features may differ from the photo displayed.

Our Resorts offer villas with private and shared pools: Children must be under constant adult supervision while using them, as the pools do not have a security system or supervision.

Animals, including pets and strays, are not permitted.

PERIOD

We have defined seasons during which rates are likely to vary:

Low season:

1 Jul 21 to 30 Sep 21

8 Mar 22 to 1 Apr 22

1 May 22 to 30 June 22

Mid-season:

1 Oct 21 to 18 Dec 21

5 Jan 22 to 7 Mar 22

1 Jul 22 to 30 Sep 22

Peak season:

BOOKING

Once a booking has been made either through the resort's website or by phone, a detailed statement of the service charged and the dates of stay will be sent to the guest, either automatically if the booking is made on-line or by a booking agent if it is made off-line.

The guest is responsible for providing the booking department with a valid email address in order to receive the confirmation.

Upon arrival, you must produce the confirmation email and valid identification of all persons who will be staying during the stay at the reception desk.

The prices mentioned on the website are in Mauritian Rupees (MUR), Euros (EUR) or in any other currency.

The prices displayed on our website are subject to change during the season (see periods defined above) and may differ from those published on other websites at the time of your booking, which you agree to when you confirm it.

Any promotions may be withdrawn or changed and there may also be periods of suspension without notice.

In the event of a promotional code or special offer, these will only be applicable at the time of booking to the service booked and to the total amount confirmed, and cannot be applied to any other service that the client intends to reserve at a later date, unless otherwise agreed between the parties.

CONCIERGE SERVICES

A Concierge is available on site providing a range of services.

1. Direct concierge services

You can book with the concierge service a number of options suggested by our staff (home chef, breakfast, barbecue rental, etc.).

These services will be payable directly on site at the current rate.

No additional costs will be charged.

Reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance.

2. Reservation for outdoor activities or services provided by other companies

The concierge can book your activities or services outside the hotel, such as a taxi, boat trip, yoga class, etc...

No additional costs will be charged.

The rates and service conditions are those of the contractor and are independent of our company's. Payment for the activity must be made directly to the operator.

TERMS OF PAYMENT

The payment of the reservations can only be made by bank transfer or by credit card. MJ Holidays Ltd uses a secure payment platform (MIPS - Multiple Internet Payment System - PCI, DSS Compliant) to protect your personal data.

In the case of payment by credit card, all of the confidential details (the 16-digit card number, expiry date and cryptogram) are transmitted directly in encrypted format to the payment gateway servers (MIPS - Multiple Internet Payment System - PCI, DSS Compliant) without transiting through any of MJ Holidays physical systems. Please note that any online payment implies that you are authorised to use the credit card provided for payment and that you have sufficient funds to cover the full cost of the transaction.

Please note: Payment of the booking implies your signature and express acceptance of the sale with all items included in the price.

In accordance with Section 5(1) of the Financial Intelligence and Anti-Money Laundering Act 2002 (FIAMLA), MJ Holidays Ltd will not collect cash payments for any amount exceeding Rs 500,000 or its equivalent in foreign currency. Failure to comply with this regulation is a punishable offence.

Payment details

A deposit of 50% of the total amount charged is required to be paid on confirmation of the booking.

The remaining 50% must be paid 10 (ten) days prior to arrival, or at the latest on the day of arrival.

During the "High Season", the remaining 50% must be paid 45 (forty-five) days before the arrival date.

When a bank transfer is made, please ensure that your payment is net of any charges.

In the case of a last-minute booking (less than 10 days before arrival), full payment will be required to confirm the booking.

In the event of non-compliance with the above conditions, MJ Holidays Ltd reserves the right to cancel the booking and charge a cancellation fee directly from the amount received as deposit.

DEPOSIT

At check-in, a deposit of €500 (or its equivalent in Mauritian Rupees or other currency) will be required. You are therefore required to present a valid credit card at the time of check-in, in your name. This deposit will be taken in the form of a debit authorization on your credit card. The authorisation will be cancelled no later than 10 (ten) days after your departure, provided that no damage to the property has occurred during your stay. An inventory of the premises is made on arrival and departure.

You are given 12 hours after entering the accommodation to report any irregularities in the initial inventory, otherwise the premises will be considered to have been handed over to you in the condition mentioned.

CANCELLATION OR CHANGES TO A BOOKING.

The guest may, by means of a written request, cancel the booking at any time, the refund conditions applicable in such cases are as follows:

In the case of the "Flexible" rate.

- In case of cancellation or no-show on the day of arrival, 100% cancellation fee* will be retained.

- In case of cancellation less than 8 days before the date of arrival, 50% cancellation fee* will be retained.

- In case of cancellation at least 8 days before the arrival date, no cancellation fee* will be charged.

In the case of the "Semi-flexible" rate:

- In case of cancellation within 30 days prior to the arrival date, 100% cancellation fee* is applicable

- In case of cancellation more than 30 days prior to the arrival date, no cancellation fee*.

In the case of "non-refundable" offers, in the event of cancellation, 100% of the cancellation fees* are applicable.

*The cancellation fee corresponds to the total amount of the validated and confirmed booking.

The above conditions are subject to change during the " Peak Season " only.

Changes to the booking after payment of the deposit can be made only according to availability and may be re-priced.

Administrative fees may be charged if the stay is postponed for more than 3 months, depending on the dates chosen and if the type of accommodation is different.

Specific conditions, COVID period

Should the stay be cancelled within 8 days of the arrival date due to the guest being found to be positive for COVID prior to departure or during the fourteen day of quarantine period, no cancellation fee will be charged provided a copy of the positive PCR test is provided in the name of the guest.

In the event of flight delays or cancellations due to unforeseen circumstances such as a cyclone, the full amount of the stay will be due even if a part of it has not been attended.
