After a successful first edition in 2018, Afrasia Bank is doing so again by organising the second edition of the Sustainable Development Summit, an event to be held on 14 and 15 October 2019 at the Caudan Arts Centre. The announcement was made at a press conference. This is an opportunity for the organisers to underline that the objective will be to translate the 17 Sustainable Development Goals within companies.
Its purpose is to increase general knowledge about the concept of sustainable development and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as established by the United Nations. This second edition, like the first, is being held in partnership with IBL Together, with the support of the United Nations. It underlines the banking institution’s commitment to resolutely integrate sustainable development into the DNA of companies.
Sustainable enterprise is an organization that can anticipate and meet the needs of present and future generations of customers and stakeholders through creating and innovating new business strategies and activities that accelerate positive social change, protect and preserve environmental integrity, while enhancing business performance.
The highlight of this summit is the “AfrAsia Bank Sustainability Awards”, a first in Mauritius to prepare the ground for a better socio-economic and ecological awareness of the country. These awards will honour local companies that have made sustainable development an integral part of their business. The Sustainability Awards is a call to Mauritian companies that have made significant progress towards sustainable development. The aim is to trigger change and thus support companies in their transition to a sustainable future.
The AfrAsia Bank Sustainability Summit aims to bring together more than 200 professionals from around the world. It also offers a wide range of conferences, round tables, workshops and numerous networking opportunities.
