Hydrofoil, how does it work?

There are also hydrofoils used for surfing, windsurfing, and wakeboarding. The hydrofoil is a profiled wing of about 1 meter which is connected to a board. The speed of movement generates an aeraulic lift on the hydrofoil that lifts the board partially or totally out of the water. The kitefoilers can then move at full speed. The hydrofoils work like airplane wings but in the water.
