Discover the west coast of Mauritius

Untouched by mass tourism, the western region of Mauritius is authentic and soothing.

This region still lives to the rhythm of agricultural work in the sugar cane fields and in its small coastal villages: Black River, Tamarin, La Preneuse, Grande Case Noyale. It harbours a green and mountainous hinterland sheltering the Black River Gorges National Park as well as a unique natural wonder: Chamarel: Seven Coloured Earths. Emblematic of the beauty of the island and the west coast of Mauritius, Le Morne Brabant, a mountain set against the backdrop of the lagoon, is yet another one of the island’s highlights.
