Golf in Mauritius

A golf destination par excellence, Mauritius has today, no less than 13 golf courses (four 9-hole and nine 18-hole golf courses) located on the southern, eastern and western coast of the island. The island has, in fact, the fourth-oldest golf course in the world, the Gymkhana, found in Vacoas, a legacy of the British colony dating back to 1844.

Tamarina Golf Estate

In close proximity to the village of Tamarin, this 18-hole course unwinds over 206 hectares of mountainous terrain, offering spectacular views over the imposing Rempart Mountain and the crystal-clear waters of Tamarin Bay. Par 72, designed by Rodney Wright, is highly technical and surrounded by woodlands reminiscent of the African savannah.

Paradis Golf Club

Located in Le Morne, Paradis Golf Club is one of the most stunning golf courses of Mauritius. This 18- hole course offers a sumptuous panorama sandwiched between the lagoon and Le Morne mountain. Par 72, designed by David Dutton and Tony Johnstone, with 5 fairways stretching over water and 5 holes alongside the Indian Ocean, is one of the island’s must-see courses.
