Air access / flights to Mauritius:
Various airline companies offer scheduled flights from France to Mauritius: Air France, Air Mauritius, Corsair, Emirates, British Airways, South African Airways, Thomson, Austrian Airlines, Air Austral, Lufthansa, Eurowings and Edelweiss.
It takes approximately 11 hours of flight time from takeoff in Paris to landing at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport, located in the south-eastern region of the island, some 48 km from Port Louis, the capital of Mauritius.
Getting around in Mauritius
The country’s road networks are good. A major motorway links the North to the South and many other well-maintained roads connect the coasts to the inner cities. However, one should not forget that in Mauritius, one drives on the left. To get around the island, you may rent a car or a motorcycle/scooter with our concierge service. Our advice: rent an automatic car, as this will make driving a lot easier!
Visa / Required procedures
You do not necessarily need a Visa to come to Mauritius. However, a passport, a round-trip air ticket as well as a confirmed booking in an accommodation are imperative.

What is the language spoken?
English is the official language of the island. However, French and Creole are spoken by the majority of Mauritians in their day-to-day lives.
The currency in Mauritius is the Mauritian Rupee (MUR). Payment with credit cards, MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Diners are accepted by hotels and major stores.
Despite the distance, about 9400 km, there is only a very small time difference between Mauritius and France. Mauritius is 3 hours ahead during winter and only 2 hours in summer. Even if it is a long flight, you will not feel the fatigue linked to jet lag.
No specific vaccination is required for a visit to Mauritius. There is no Malaria or Zika virus.
The hospital infrastructures, public or private, are in conformity with international standards.
Two types of sockets are used (2-pin or 3-pin); it is, therefore, advisable to bring an adaptor.
